Roberta, a priest of the Holy Church, is assigned as the parish priest to Dithmarschen, a remote region at the northernmost edge. Because the post is given to her immediately after the disappearance of her predecessor, she remains on guard as she begins to learn about Ulrich, the Duke of Dithmarschen. Rumor has it that he has ruled as lord for over 300 years—and that he himself claims to be an immortal who has lived a life no human could. Determined to uncover the truth, Roberta decides to trace his past and follow in his footsteps.
