After losing her parents at the age of 12, Leila Llewelyn is passed from one uncaring relative to another until she’s sent away to another country altogether. Arriving in the Empire of Berg, she is placed in the care of Bill Lemmer, a gruff distant relative who seems to care for little else other than his work as a groundskeeper for the renowned Herhardt family.
